I've been playing high school basketball for almost five years now. I began as a co-captain of our bantam basketball, and have been playing up an age division since grade 9. In grade 9, I played on the junior team as well as a practice player for senior, and have been fully dedicated to the senior team since grade 10.
Basketball season is the time I look forward to every single year, from Christmas festivity to tournaments to team bonding to the simple sound of shoes squeaking on the floor, there is never a time on or off the court where I don't make better connections with the people involved in the sport. The volume of passion and commitment I see in teammates, coaches, and officials is inspiring.

DANCE
I attended Colours of Dance Academy from around 2010 to mid-2017. This community of Chinese cultural dance really linked me back to my roots. Through these years, I've experienced extraordinary moments of mixed emotions of motivation, pressure, and pride. Hours of weekly training, day-long dress rehearsals, self-tailored hand-me-down costumes, and piles of torn up dance shoes led to unforgettable performances on countless numbers of different stages. You eventually lose track of the amount of competition medals and trophies after each year.
